Your Role:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team at the Savannah location. This critical role will focus on planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical engineering projects, ensuring they meet technical specifications, budgets, and established quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure the successful delivery of projects. All activities will prioritize high-quality standards, driving innovation and the adoption of advanced technologies while ensuring the integrity of infrastructure assets. The engineer will maintain rigorous standards for safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence. They will champion continuous improvement initiatives, including project management.  Specific Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Collaborate with teams and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure mechanical designs meet technical specifications, regulatory standards, and facilitate smooth project execution
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively for all project components while monitoring progress and providing regular reports to identify and address potential issues
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures throughout each project phase, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards through quality inspections
  • Offer technical support and guidance to maintenance and engineering teams, staying informed about the latest engineering technologies and industry best practices
  • Participate in the development of CAPEX requirements for annual budgeting and long-term planning (5-year outlook)
  • Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying and implementing process enhancements within the engineering and manufacturing environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, minimize waste, and improve product quality through innovative engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Management of Change, and addressing Customer Complaints and Corrective/Preventive Actions
  • Work closely with local business partners to guide activities in production, procurement, and finance, and collaborate with global counterparts to promote harmonization and Best Practice Sharing

 

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other engineering disciplines
  •  3 + years of experience in mechanical project management

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, systems, and components.
  • Knowledge with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience in project management skills, including budgeting and cost management
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously while demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD (Computer-Aided Design) software
  • Awareness of industry-specific codes and regulations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
