Director APAC Policy and Transaction Development

 APAC Life Science Government Affairs – Director APAC Policy and Transaction Development

 

Your role :

• Within the Corporate Affairs Function, reporting to the Government & Public Affairs global business partner to Life Science

• Working closely with regional business leaders, develop and lead strategies aimed at Life Science business growth and risk management through advocacy, shaping public policy and procurement and stakeholder engagement in the APAC region including India, China, Korea, Vietnam Singapore and other national and regional authorities

• Formulate public policy strategies to advance Life Science R&D, bio-manufacturing and quality assurance business sector priorities

• Identify and lead engagement with external stakeholders relevant for Life Science

• Collaborate with business functions including sales and marketing, and Corporate Affairs, legal and regulatory counterparts to ensure Life Science business priorities are translated and executed in a groupwide policy advocacy agenda

• Catalyze partnerships that position Life Science as the preferred choice for Government sponsored funded research, quality assurance and bio-manufacturing investment.

• Develop and execute purposeful social media engagement to advance policy/transaction agenda

 

Who you are :

 

EDUCATION & LANGUAGES

• University degree in politics, business, economics or relevant regional studies

• Fluent Mandarin and fluent English

 

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 15 or more years of experience in Government & Public Affairs, preferred experience in a related science and technology/bio-manufacturing company

• Experience within Government & Public Affairs, sales & marketing, strategy or equivalent other life science related business function

• Government service or relevant trade association leadership

Proven experience advancing public policy and transaction support towards tangible outcomes

• Proven record of operating with integrity

• Proven experience working in a matrixed organization

 

PERSONAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Clear organization and strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to execute against a plan

• “Can do” with a commercial focus aimed at delivering tangible business results

• Exceptional communication skills

• Policy acumen and fluency

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Located in APAC region

• Position requires both domestic and international travel up to 30% of time
