Head of Trade Compliance China (m/f)

Are you interested in leading trade compliance for our Performance Materials business in China?

In your role as Head of Trade Compliance China you will be responsible for leading a small team of trade compliance experts as well as executing daily trade compliance tasks.  


Your role:

  • Acting as a working manager, i.e. operating GTS, managing license, like hazardous chemical operation, EUD, NPPC, coating material, etc., and document handling for clearance, defining HS code
  • Acting as trade compliance officer for PM China
  • Becoming the communication window in the discussion with customs authorities
  • Leading trade compliance related projects, including AEO certification
  • Ensuring a good trade control including the topic of sanction and strategic goods, etc.
  • Preparing FTA declarations and defining FTA status
  • Working at transfer price topic
  • Keep close relationship and effective communication internally and externally on a cross departmental basis as well as with external parties and authorities
  • Be the driver in trade compliance related topics including monitoring of changes


Who you are:

  • Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in chemistry or other business studies 
  • Minimum of 10 years trade compliance experience or related positions
  • Excellent Chinese and English skills (reading & writing)
  • Having an excellent knowledge CN customs system
  • Have full knowledge of handling import/export of chemical products
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills, being able to adequately communicate with relevant parties at all levels
  • Structured and target-oriented working approach
  • Good stakeholder management
  • Good understanding of related laws and regulations
  • SAP system knowledge required, preferably GTS experience
  • A good knowledge about customs declaration and FTA
