Your Role:
The Associate Quality Control Chemist at MilliporeSigma will evaluate products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others and perform operations in support of the group and department. The QC Chemist is also responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the analytical instruments that reside in the QC labs, and assists with managing existing service contracts and the onboarding and retirement of instruments.
- Review stock suitability data in accordance with guidelines of the quality management system
- Maintain and support general quality review functions
- Identify opportunities for quality improvement in compliance with Quality Management System
- Communicate with relevant management and departments to ensure customer focused excellence
- Prioritize responsibilities in alignment with established department goals
- Perform routine performance verification and preventative maintenance
- Assist with troubleshooting activities where needed
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, or other Life Science discipline
- 1+ year of laboratory or quality review experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Chemistry
- Knowledge in chemistry, math, and general science
- Ability to function in a team environment
- Excellent customer service and communications skills, oral and written
- Good understanding of analytical tools and equipment
- Safe chemical handling practice skills
- Compute chemical calculations and conversions
- Ability to adapt, self-motivate, and think critically
- Excellent organization, time management skills and troubleshooting skills
- Independently driven, detail oriented and possesses good decision making skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Power Point, Excel, Word, etc.
- Basic understanding of Data Integrity
