Your Role

 

The Distribution Associate 1 at MilliporeSigma in Sheboygan Falls will complete the following tasks on a daily basis:

 

  • Receive material from outside vendors
  • Select orders for processing
  • Verify chemicals, catalog number, lot number, special request information, unit size and weights against order documentation found in packing instructions
  • Print and apply all required labels and markings to boxes and pack hazardous items for shipment to customer following established procedures and instructions while complying with hazard regulations
  • Prepare materials for shipment, verify that all appropriate markings and labels are present on packages to comply with company procedures and DOT, IATA, and IMO regulations, making corrections when necessary
  • Scan or meter products into the shipping system
  • Accurately document all movement of materials
  • Use a powered pallet jack and manual material handling equipment
  • Perform defined audit tasks with guidance
  • Condense, straighten, and maintain warehouse and dock areas
  • Report unsafe or potentially unsafe hazards to team leads or member of management
  • Miscellaneous duties, projects, and tasks as assigned
  • Follow good distribution practices (GDP)
  • Shift/hours: 1st shift, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, M-F

 

Physical Attributes:

 

  • Wear appropriate protective gear, (hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes) and other personal protection equipment "PPE" to protect from toxic or corrosive chemicals in the forms of liquids, solids, vapors or airborne particles
  • Sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl
  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Move more than 50 pounds with assistance
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjust focus
  • Regular use of phones, computers, office equipment, and laboratory equipment

 

Who You Are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 1+ year of work experience in a warehouse environment
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations
  • Experience working with hazardous materials
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail 
  • Adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
