Your Role:
The Facility Maintenance Technician at MilliporeSigma in Sheboygan will assist with facility or maintenance activities at the site. You will have the opportunity to participate in a State certified Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship program upon approval from department management. Duties and responsibilties include:
- Maintain and repair equipment, facilities, and utility systems
- Complete corrective and preventive maintenance work orders
- Identify and report unsafe work conditions
- Familiarity with the Management of Change Process for changes
- Generate process improvement solutions
- Conduct miscellaneous duties and tasks as assigned
- Read, understand, and follow work instructions and procedures
- Operate a forklift and a man lift
- Read, redline, and understand all types of drawings/schematics including gauges and units of measure, materials of construction and chemical compatibility
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic shop tools (grinder, drill press, sand blaster, band saw, etc.) and identify parts needed for repair
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical systems, EHS equipment and systems, electrical power and control circuits up to 120 V., boilers, chillers, HVAC and air handling systems
- Make decisions and resolve problems (analyze alternatives, evaluate risks, etc.)
- Future participation in possible weekend work rotation
- Perform work related travel as necessary
- Use excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills to conduct Maintenance tasks
- Shift/Hours: 3rd shift, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Sun - Thu
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 6+ months of hands-on maintenance experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of hands-on maintenance experience including preventive & predictive maintenance
- 1+ year of experience maintaining electrical and mechanical systems
- Associate degree in applicable field
- Exemplary attendance and adherence to schedule, accept responsibility, meet deadlines and contribute to department goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including good documentation practices
- Excellent cleanliness, organizational, and 6S skills
- Excellent self-motivation and productivity skills
- Ability to collaborate with other departments
- Knowledge of CMMS Systems
