Your Role:
The Manufacturing Operator 1 at MilliporeSigma will produce and purify chemical compounds to meet the needs of MilliporeSigma customers. The following tasks will be completed daily:
- Handle chemicals safely, understanding of chemical reactions and hazards
- Stage and de-stage materials and equipment using pallet mules, manual equipment, and PIT
- Verify quality and integrity of material and equipment used
- Identify unsafe conditions and correct them. Complete Safety Observation/Near Miss report with suggestions to improve/prevent condition
- Participate in incident investigations and safety meetings
- Achieve defined personal development goals
- Perform in-process analytical testing, including workups and simple interpretations as described in the MPR
- Identify malfunctions in equipment operation, and with appropriate approval, take corrective action
- Basic job-related SAP applications
- Shift: 3rd shift, Sun – Thu, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in chemistry or other life science discipline OR 2+ years of college chemistry
- Experience working in a chemistry or other life science environment
- Effective oral and written communication skills, mechanical aptitude, basic mathematical skills
- Ability to read and understand written protocols
- Ability to operate forklift or hand pallet truck, hand tools, lab equipment, calculator and weighing and measuring devices
- Basic understanding of ISO and quality systems
