Your Role

 

The Manufacturing Operator 3 at MilliporeSigma in Sheboygan Falls will manufacture and evaluate products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others and perform operations in support of the group and department. The Operator will produce and purify chemical compounds to meet the demands and requirements of MilliporeSigma customers. Additional responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Recognizes and suggests corrective measures to process anomalies
  • Participates in root cause investigations, offers suggestions, and assists in implementing formal Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA)
  • Writes and revises Standard Operating Procedures
  • Develops and delivers training to new team members, and maintains accurate records of their progress
  • Provides solutions to production/packaging questions and problems
  • Makes suggestions and participates in PDSA test cycles and significant “Just Do Its“ that result in measurable and sustainable improvement
  • Performs small scale experimentation as directed by authorized personnel
  • Leads 6S/OPEX improvements
  • Actively contributes to a positive safety, quality, and inclusive culture through voice and action
  • Independently looks beyond individual assignments and willingly assists team members to improve departmental productivity
  • Independently develops and executes a daily work plan to best utilize time resources
  • Use eTool to document deviations, observations, and improvements to MPRs
  • Knowledge of relevant SAP functions
  • Manufactures/Packages complex products that require advanced technique and skill set
  • Member of cross-departmental initiatives, e.g. PDSA groups, site-wide training programs, ERT, Safety Committee, Ergonomics
  • Shift: 1st shift, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, M-F

 

Physical Attributes:

 

  • Wear appropriate protective gear, (hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes) and other personal protection equipment “PPE” to protect from toxic or corrosive chemicals in the forms of liquids, solids, vapors or airborne particles
  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds unassisted and ability to push and pull heavy materials to complete assignments

 

Who You Are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Associate Degree in Chemistry or other life science discipline or 2+ years of college chemistry
  • Knowledge in chemistry or biochemistry, math and general science
  • Familiar with laboratory instruments and production equipment
  • Independent chemistry lab research
  • Experience with process techniques and unit operations
  • Analytical techniques and equipment
  • Safe chemical handling methods
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written
  • Computer skills and multitasking ability
  • Chemical production experience on the glassware scale
