Your Role:

Provide leadership and technical expertise to enhance Process Safety Management and Risk Management Programs by identifying process hazards, assessing hazard risks, and collaborating with engineering and operations teams to develop effective solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) of facilities and systems utilizing HAZOP, What-If, and FMEA techniques.
  • Oversee the revalidation of existing systems and processes, including research and development.
  • Conduct pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR) for both new and existing systems.
  • Drive root cause analysis and conduct incident investigations.
  • Manage the change process, ensuring proper tracking and documentation.
  • Develop quantitative risk analysis (QRA) using Fault Tree, LOPA methods, and consequence modeling.
  • Coordinate site audits and manage issues related to external organizations such as CGA, NFPA, HSE, OSHA, and SEMI.
  • Generate comprehensive safety reports in accordance with SHA, EPA, and local regulations.
  • Create PSM and RMP training materials and facilitate training sessions for site personnel.
  • Ensure the quality of ongoing activities and processes.
  • Operate with minimal guidance and work independently.
  • Serve as a senior advisor and mentor within the team, providing best practices and technical expertise on cross-functional teams or projects.
  • Frequently lead small to medium-sized functional teams or projects with manageable to moderate resource requirements, risks, and complexities.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other engineering discipline OR Chemistry, Biology, or other life science discipline
  • 6+ years of Safety Process Management experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experienced with common hazard analysis techniques
  • Proficient with industry standard risk assessment methodologies
  • Experience with process hazard analysis techniques, particularly HAZOP, FMEA and What-If studies
  • Proficient with quantitative and semi-quantitative risk assessments, including an understanding of techniques like LOPA and FTA/ETA
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation such as piping and instrumentation diagrams, standard operating procedures, interlocks, and control narrative, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including confident, supportive, collaborative, respectful communication
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with relevant safety and environmental regulations in the semiconductor industry organizations CGA, NFPA, Hse, OSHA, SEMI, etc
  • Familiar with basic safety integrity level (SIL) identification
  • Expertise with lockout/tagout, hot work, and confined space entry 
  • Experience with PHA management software (PHA Works)
