Value Manager, Value Management Center

Your role: The Value Manager will support in the development and execution of the Value Management Centre’s strategy to create a value culture across the Merck Process Solutions business and lead the expansion of support to strategic accounts (SPA and MAG) in the APAC region. The key role includes collaborating with commercial partners and customer stakeholders on the qualification and creation of tailored business cases as well as facilitating value improvement and productivity programs. This position also requires partnering with internal teams globally (product management, R&D, marketing and process development scientists) in the development of tools and quantified value propositions for the Merck products, services and integrated solutions.


Who you are: You are a result driven, self-starter with a passion for developing sustainable customer-oriented solution. Proficient networker who embraces collaboration and can partner with subject matter experts to collect, analyze and develop tailored value propositions and business cases. A skilled communicator that can present recommendations and solutions to internal and external stakeholders from bench scientists to boardroom executives. 


In the nutshell, you should also embody the following capabilities: Analytical Approach to be able to identify and define problems as well as leveraging data to solve. Strategic Partnering to collaborate with stakeholders to shape and deliver on future-focused solutions. Agile Execution to be able to evaluate all options in order to provide differentiated and integrated solutions


Travel expectations are 10-30%, primarily APAC region, but some international travel to customer locations and Merck facilities worldwide maybe be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Business or adequate experience in scientific manufacturing processes and/or life sciences sales and marketing.
  • 4+ years’ experience working in the pharmaceutical, life sciences or biotechnology industry.
  • Basic statistical analysis, and fundamental accounting/finance experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial statements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with financial analysis/modelling.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma principals.
  • Strong communication (verbal/written), interpersonal, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Project Management skill will be a plus
  • Experience working in a global, matrix organization.
  • Additional languages skills Mandarin and Korean will be welcomed
