Your Role:
The Associate Production Scientist – 1st shift at our Cherokee site in St. Louis, MO performs manufacturing and packaging operations. This facility handles flammable solvents and is a process safety managed (PSM) area. Employees must comply with all PSM policies. Job duties include:
- Shift Hours: Monday – Friday, 5:30am – 2:00pm
- Complete the volume of work required to achieve group/departmental goals and meet deadlines.
- Lead advanced troubleshooting and technical investigations into operational deviations while proactively initiating and driving the associated change control processes to ensure continuous compliance and process improvement.
- Maintain high-level data integrity by performing and interpreting complex analytical evaluations of products and intermediates, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and fully compliant with established quality guidelines.
- Maintain a pristine production environment by independently and collaboratively performing the setup, operation, and sanitation of all manufacturing and packaging equipment in strict accordance with H&H site standards and safety protocols.
- Design and evaluate complex experiments and process developments, while authoring compliant procedures and providing technical support for quality audits and responses.
- Maintain full compliance with safety and quality systems by completing all required training, following established SOPs, and ensuring the absolute accuracy of all operational logbooks.
- Contribute to support functions of manufacturing and packaging (e.g., maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock lab supplies, waste disposal).
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and process improvement by training team members on ISO-compliant safety and documentation practices, while maintaining 5S standards and ensuring the secure, compatible storage of hazardous materials.
- Proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards by taking immediate corrective action to maintain a safe and compliant manufacturing environment.
Physical Attributes:
- Don, doff, use and clean personal protective equipment appropriately
- Walk, reach above shoulders, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, crawl, and/or stand and perform repetitive movements for extended periods of time.
- Safely lift and transport materials weighing up to 80 lbs
- Maintain full compliance with safety protocols by consistently wearing required PPE, including respiratory protection, chemical-resistant aprons, and full-body Tyvek suits.
- Maintain the physical stamina to navigate stairs and perform repetitive lifting, twisting, and turning during material transport throughout the workday.
- Adaptable to working in environments with non-weather-related extreme temperatures, high humidity, and consistent vibration.
- Operates safely in high-noise environments and in close proximity to moving mechanical parts.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or other scientific discipline
OR
- Associate Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or other scientific discipline with 5 + years large scale chemical manufacturing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented professionals with the proven ability to drive results both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrates a strong command of GMP and SOP compliance, ensuring all safe chemical handling and operational procedures are executed with precision to maintain a secure and regulated manufacturing environment.
- Possess strong mechanical and technical communication skills, with a focus on training team members, managing complex workflows, and ensuring all documentation meets rigorous GDP, FDA, and ISO standards.
RSREMD
Pay Range for this position: $24.00 - $43.00.
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
