Your Role: 

 

  • Work Location: 545 South Ewing Avenue St. Louis, Missouri.
  • The hours for this role are typically 7 am-3:30 pm, though it may also involve work before or after these hours.
  • Perform production operations.
  • Set-up and prepare products according to current manufacturing procedures.
  • Ensure quality and quantity of product throughout production process. 
  • Clean-up equipment and working areas after production operations. 
  • Coordinate appropriate disposal of waste and complete compliance documentation. 
  • Communicate and document status of processes, products, and equipment.
  • Communicate the status of production operations and bring deviations to the attention of supervisor. 
  • Provide a complete and accurate batch record at the conclusion of production. operations consistent with quality guidelines including Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) if applicable.
  • Write and modify production procedures consistent with quality guidelines. 
  • Enter hours worked and raw materials used into SAP. 
  • Ensure all applicable logbooks have been filled out completely as required by current procedures.
  • Perform and interpret analytical evaluations of products and intermediates. 
  • Review analytical procedures for in-process testing to ensure they are equivalent to testing performed by Analytical Services. 
  • Perform necessary analytical tests and evaluate results during the process and at the completion of the run. 
  • Ensure purity of starting material, intermediates and final products are consistent with history and product specifications. 
  • Perform daily and production operations in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Follow production procedures and safety policies. 
  • Use, clean, and store all personal protective gear appropriately. 
  • Label all in-process equipment and containers properly. 
  • Take the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditions. 
  • Participate in required safety and quality training and other related activities. 
  • Maintain good housekeeping in laboratory and working areas. 

 

 

Physical Attributes:

 

  • May sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl for short periods of time. 
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and more than 50 pounds assisted. 
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment, “PPE,” including but not limited to hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical-resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes. 
  • Involves the use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and adjusting focus. 
  • Work area may occasionally be wet, humid, abnormally hot, or cold. 
  • Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. 

 

Who You Are: 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or other Life Science discipline. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments, production equipment, process techniques, unit operations, and analytical techniques & equipment. 
  • Knowledge of chemical handling methods.
  • High degree of computer literacy.
  • Strong mechanical inclination and troubleshooting skills.
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills.
