Your Role

The Production Planning Manager leads and manages the production planning, purchasing, and scheduling teams in support of operations within the Production Planning organization of Supply Chain, reviews and adjusts demands at a global and local level, compiles long and short-term capacity plans, and ensures supply chain planning designs are set to achieve global service and inventory objectives. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support employees in Planning and Scheduling while acting as a technical resource, business leader, and mentor
  • Manage activities of planning, scheduling, and purchasing group(s) to achieve targeted service levels while controlling operational and inventory costs. 
  • Meet established KPIs and objectives 
  • Act as facilitator and liaison between Manufacturing and all other support teams to ensure materials and resources are available for scheduled production 
  • Use capacity models for long term business planning 
  • Maintain and monitor work performance of employees 
  • Assist operations with throughput, efficiency, volume, capacity utilization, on time data, and quality issues 
  • Manage the Supply Review process 
  • Represent planning and purchasing to site, commercial, and sales leadership 
  • Lead teams in support of planning and purchasing activities at the respective sites 
  • Develop and implement strategy for production planning in support of the operations and commercial goals for the business 
  • Lead Sales and Operations Planning meetings with key business partners as well as additional business-related discussions 
  • Support Site Leadership at responsible sites with Operational planning, business cases, and headcount requests 
  • Contribute to the development of global operations and supply chain integration and rationalization plans and ensure timely execution of medium- and longer-term strategies 

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business, Supply Chain or similar field preferred (or equivalent work experience) 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain, forecasting, and/or planning/scheduling 
  • Minimum 2 years’ supervisory or management experience 
  • Experience with ERP systems (i.e., Oracle, SAP) 
  • Experience in effectively presenting to small and large groups 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and work with complex system planning and forecasting systems 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills in English 
  • Exceptional skills in all planning process disciplines including Sales & Operations Planning, Finite Scheduling and Forecasting 
  • Proven ability to develop planning strategies and implement them in a complex global, technical, matrixed environment  
  • Excellent leadership, change management, interpersonal, and communications skills, with the ability to work in a diverse, global environment while adhering to the highest ethical standards 
  • Deep knowledge of process improvement  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to teach others these techniques 
  • Ability to mentor and develop subordinates globally   
  • Clear ability to build teams and influence-manage worldwide
