Lead Senior Functional Analysts

 

Job Location: Sigma-Aldrich Corporation, 3050 Spruce Street, St. Louis, MO 63103

 

Local telecommuting is permitted. The employee must be able to come into the office in St. Louis, Missouri when needed.

 

5% domestic travel and 5% international travel required per year.

Responsibilities:

 

The Lead Senior Functional Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders, typically product/process owners and senior managers, across the entire business to ensure all requirements gathering, documentation, testing, training, and communication is complete. Specific job duties include:

 

  1. Guide functional analysts to convert business needs into functional requirements;
  2. Analyze large scale business problems and opportunities by evaluating, clarifying, and defining business processes and systems to meet user requirements;
  3. Review and optimize business processes to minimize wasted time and tailor the application to deliver against an optimized process;
  4. Create business process flow diagrams to describe the "as is" and "to be" states;
  5. Take ownership of the end-to-end process during the design and development phases and coordinates hand-over of solution to business stakeholders;
  6. Investigate, determine, and recommend solutions for change requests and coordinate with IT to identify functional and technical options;
  7. Work closely with the development team to define and pressure test the data models to support the application;
  8. Review test results, validate through independent testing and sign-off on changes; and
  9. Provide leadership and mentoring to less experienced team members by reviewing their documentation for gaps in use cases or business processes.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

 

Employer requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, a life sciences field, engineering, or a closely related field and three (3) years of work experience as a Business Analyst/Functional Analyst (“BA/FA”) or related occupation implementing an eCommerce website. In addition, the employer requires the following:

 

  1. Demonstrated ability implementing successful website and ERP projects gained through three (3) years of work experience; and
  2. Demonstrated understanding of inventory management, product presentation, product/service marketing, order to cash processing, or order fulfillment gained through three (3) years of work experience.

 

All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
