Maintenance Manager

Your Role:

 

The purpose of this position is to supervise the Maintenance work force for St. Louis Operations. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise the Maintenance supervisors for the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Guide and direct work in area of responsibility.
  • Handle administrative duties for the Maintenance Department. Manage Change Control to the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Liason between operations and maintenance
  • Evaluate equipment, spare parts, supplies, and service needs for area of responsibility.
  • Lead Process Improvement Efforts

 

Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree Required (Engineering Preferred).  MBA desired.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related manufacturing or maintenance experience
  • Must be able to Supervise the Maintenance supervisors for the assigned area of responsibility.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to set goals and monitor progress for each supervisor.
  • Ability to set & manage performance metrics.
  • Ability to have a development plan for each supervisor.  
  • Ability to communicate work priorities to supervisors as required.
  • Ability to perform an annual performance review of each supervisor.
  • Ability to interview and select successful candidates.

 

Handle administrative duties for the Maintenance Department.  Manage Change control for department CMMS system. Must be able to:

  • Write and process HR requests for the department.    
  • Communicate company policy and procedures.
  • Communicate and implement company Quality policies.
  • Be responsible for safety and compliance activities for the department.
  • Write and administer departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Be responsible for OSHA Process Safety Management program. & other environmental compliance programs.
  • Be responsible & manage Refrigeration compliance.
  • Set direction & Manage Predictive Maintenance stratgeies.
  • Manage & Direct Building Management System & Temperature Monitoring activities.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions. 
  • Set and abide by Expense Budgets for buildings & equipment.
  • Manage Utility expense. Set Budgets & achieve reduction results where applicable.
  • Control and formulate Capital Budgets.
  • Control CMMS data base access and procedures.
  • Technically advise department owners and engineers on projects.
  • Advise on process safety information and maintenance records.
  • Participate in Audits, committees, and walk throughs where maintenance representation is required.

 

Act as the liaison between departments and maintenance. Must be able to:

  • Work with internal customers on developing their maintenance needs.
  • Assist with the development of PM and Calibration requirements. 
  • Develop improvement plans with the customer & site directors.  
  • Assist in developing work priorities as required.
  • Recommend spare parts based on Breakdown histories or risk.
  • Review repair performance and make improvement suggestions.
  • Arrange shutdown schedules and coordinate efforts to reduce costs.

 

Assist with evaluation of equipment, spare parts, supplies, and service needs for area of responsibility. Must be able to:

  • Work with supervisors on supplies inventories and spare parts needs.
  • Facilitate the negotiation of prices for services and supplies used.
  • Analyze projects from a maintenance perspective.
  • Review equipment advances which offer improved efficiency. 

 

Lead the Department Process Improvement Efforts. Must be able to:

  • Assign, and monitor Process Improvement Projects.
  • Facilitate and teach proper Process Improvement techniques. 
  • Facilitate, develop, and improve on Department Process Improvement reporting.
  • Develop Six Sigma Green & Black Belts within the organization
