Your Role:

At MilliporeSigma, as the Manufacturing Technician 3 – 1st shift at the Cherokee site (3300 S. Second Ave), is focused on performing manufacturing and packaging operations according to established protocols. Job duties include:

  • Shift: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Operate processing equipment.
  • Set up equipment for various unit operations, both individually and in combinations.
  • Start, operate, and stop unit operations using manual, automatic, or computer control systems, ensuring adherence to operating procedures.
  • Clean equipment and work areas after production, documenting as necessary.
  • Identify equipment malfunctions and, with approval, take corrective actions such as reconfiguring equipment or adjusting parameters.
  • Report equipment failures and collaborate with repair personnel to resolve issues.
  • Investigate process improvement opportunities under the guidance of a supervisor or production scientist
  • Control unit operations using manual, automatic, or computer systems to optimize product quality and throughput.
  • Conduct routine analytical tests to ensure processes are in control.
  • Transport chemicals and equipment using pumps, piping, forklifts, and manual aids like pallet jacks or dollies.
  • Manufacture and package products following approved protocols. 
  • Communicate production status and equipment issues to the supervisor through oral, written, or electronic means.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of production operations in line with quality guidelines.
  • Share knowledge and observations about processes with the department to improve understanding.
  • Ensure all logbooks are filled out completely as required by operating procedures. Perform operations in compliance with rules and in a safe, orderly manner.
  • Always follow production procedures and safety policies, including industry and government guidelines like Process Safety Management and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Properly wear, use, clean, and store all personal protective gear.
  • Be aware of common hazards in the workplace and take action to ensure safety.
  • Participate in required safety and compliance activities, including training, meetings, and inspections.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in laboratory, processing and working areas.

Physical Attributes:

  • Lift and move up to 35lbs.
  • Able to walk, reach overhead, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, crawl, and stand for long periods.
  • Navigate 3 flights of stairs multiple times a day.
  • Willing to work in a non-air-conditioned production environment and outdoors.

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • 1+ years of experience in an ISO or GMP environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or other Life Science field of study

Pay Range for this position: $24.00 - $43.00.

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
