Your Role:

The LSPS Site Deployment Lead drives the implementation of the site’s Life Science Production System (LSPS) at a Site level; reports progress on the initiative at key meetings at site and regional level, unblocks issues faced by the LSPS team, acts as a role model for cultural behaviors, and is accountable for the successful execution of master plans for continuous area optimization. The LSPS Site Deployment Lead also leads workshops and builds capabilities of the site through targeted training and coaching of frontline employees.

 

  • Proven leadership skills to drive change and challenge the status quo respectfully and professionally while building rapport and trust with peers and many levels of leadership.
  • Communicates opportunities, impacts, and risks effectively within deployment team, AO (Area of Opportunity) leadership, and site LT through strong written, visual, and verbal communication skill.

  • Develops partnership within frontline teams to help drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyzes data, gathers inputs, and observes operations to identify gaps & opportunities and propose root causes for improvement. Formulates possible solutions. Independently builds visuals to communicate the opportunity and impact to the plant. Implements solutions to address root cause. Quantifies opportunities for executive summaries. Implements creative solutions to address complex root causes.
  • Manages deployment project charters, timelines, and task follow-ups to ensure safe, timely completion and effective communication of risks to area, site, and global LSPS leadership. Clears roadblocks experienced by the deployment team.

 

This will be an onsite role based in St. Louis, MO. 

 

Physical Attributes

  • May sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl for short periods of time.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds unassisted and more than 50 pounds assisted.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment, “PPE,” including but not limited to, hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical-resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes.
  • Must be able to work with video display images for extended periods of time – up to eight (8) hours per day.
  • Work area may occasionally be wet, humid, abnormally hot, or cold.
  • Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Much of the work will be in an office/cubicle, laboratory, warehouse, or virtual environment.  The ability to clearly and comfortably view, interpret, and process information via a computer monitor for extended periods of time during normal working hours is required. Some assignments may require extended periods in another plant/office location. Travel for this position can peak at 10-20%.

 

Who you are:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific / technical discipline – Chemistry, Microbiology, Related Life Science or Engineering, and 8+ years internal experience in Operations or Supply Chain.
  • 3+ years in a people leadership role and 1+ year in a continuous improvement-focused role
  • Experience implementing 3+ LSPS elements, including 2 foundational elements (DMS, LSW, 6S, or Problem Solving) and taking ownership of a deployment workstream.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt with sufficient change management expertise.
  • Experience working with internal stakeholders up to Plant Head as well as cross-functionally.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple and/or large teams, including technical and non-technical personnel.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing project managers, preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including database management; proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Power Point, Smartsheet)
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills including training staff and fostering collaborative teamwork.
  • Self-directed and self-motivated.
  • Strong ability to effectively prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks and projects with varying requirements and deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
  • Proven ability to influence with and/or without direct authority.
