Your Role:

As a Packaging Operator 2, at MilliporeSigma, you will perform automated, semi-automated, and manual filling, capping, and labeling to produce reagents and kits used by research and clinical testing laboratories throughout the world.  Your work will range from large scale bulk pumping and transfer to small scale bench top filling with a pipette. 

 

  • Fill, cap, and label chemical products
  • Independently set-up and operate automated fill lines
  • Organize and set-up the filling of large hazardous fills using equipment
  • Set-up, operate and troubleshoot automated and semi-automated cappers and labelers
  • Fill products utilizing aseptic techniques and/or environmentally controlled areas
  • Transfer bulk material utilizing peristaltic pumps
  • Filter bulk material using pumps and in-line filters or vacuum filters
  • Assist with loading bottles and pack-off during fill line operations
  • Develop and assist in the implementation of process improvement ideas
  • Comply with the requirements of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001
  • Participate in 6S activities. Maintain good housekeeping and audit readiness
  • Use filtration and aseptic handling techniques

 

Physical Attributes:   

  • Wear PPE such as hard hats, safety shoes, respirators, safety glasses, gloves, hair nets, beard covers (if applicable), Tyvek suits, shoe covers, and respirator
  • Move drums on and off pallets that exceed 70 pounds while wearing PPE
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted & move more than 50 pounds with assistance
  • The work area may occasionally be wet, humid abnormally hot or cold
  • Sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, or crouch for the entire shift
  • Talk, hear, taste and smell
  • Use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and adjust focus
  • Work with and in proximity of hazardous chemicals and human source materials

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ months of chemical packaging, manufacturing, or scientific/laboratory experience
  • 3+ months of experience in ISO/GMP regulated environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to do basic math-including metrics and conversions
  • Knowledge of safety rules, GMP, SOP’s, UOP’s
  • Mechanical skills with ability to use pumps, electronic balances, and material handling equipment
  • Ability to set up and troubleshoot automated packaging equipment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to train others and work in a team setting
  • Problem solving
  • Ability to use hand tools
