Your Role:
MilliporeSigma has an opening at our Ewing site as a Packaging Operator II. In this role you stage, fill, cap, label, and over pack liquid, powder, and lyophilized products per approved
packaging specifications and according to safety and quality protocols. Complete appropriate packaging documentation per FDA, ISO, and GMP procedures and deliver products to inventory.
Hours of this position will be 1:30pm- Midnight; Monday-Thursday.
- Operate and Maintain Packaging Equipment: Set up, operate, clean, and troubleshoot all automated and semi-automated equipment, including filling lines, cappers/torquers, and labelers, performing routine cleaning to minimize downtime
- Execute Diverse Product Fills: Perform all aspects of product filling, capping, and labeling using both manual and semi-automated methods, ensuring proper weighing and material handling
- Manage Complex and Specialized Fills: Lead, coordinate, and organize the filling of complex, custom, and highly hazardous products requiring specialized equipment and strict environmental controls (e.g., aseptic techniques)
- Perform Material Preparation and Transfer: Filter bulk material using various methods (e.g., pumps, vacuum filters) and utilize pumps to transfer bulk solutions and safely transport materials throughout the facility
- Ensure Product Integrity and Quality: Fill, cap, and label products according to specifications, using electronic balances for proper material weighing and aseptic techniques when required
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Operational Issues: Actively troubleshoot filling and capping equipment, and escalate line malfunctions, maintenance, and repair issues promptly to minimize production delays
- Contribute to Process and Equipment Improvement: Setup, operate, and clean lyophilizers and assist with the evaluation of new filling equipment and contribute packaging expertise to new business opportunities.
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- 3 + months of chemical packaging, manufacturing, or scientific/laboratory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fill, cap, and label chemical products
- 3+ months of experience in ISO/GMP regulated environment
- 3+ months of chemical packaging, manufacturing, or scientific/laboratory experience
- Ability to do basic math-including metrics and conversions
- Knowledge of safety rules, GMP, SOP’s, UOP’s
- Mechanical skills with ability to use pumps, electronic balances, and material handling equipment
- Troubleshoot automated packaging equipment
- Strong written and oral communication skills and problem-solving skills
- Ability to train others and work in a team setting
- Pay Range for this position: $19.00-$30.00 per hour.
- The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
