Your Role:
As a Packaging Operator 2 at MilliporeSigma you will perform filling, capping, and labeling to produce reagents and kits used by research and clinical testing laboratories throughout the world. Job duties include:
- Complete packaging documentation and deliver products to inventory following regulatory and quality procedures (FDA, ISO, GMP).
- Perform manual and semi-automated filling, capping, and labeling of chemical products.
- Independently set up, operate, troubleshoot, and clean semi-automated filling equipment.
- Organize and execute complex and hazardous fills, including those requiring aseptic techniques and environmental controls.
- Utilize pumps, electronic balances, and filtration systems for material transfer and preparation.
- Operate and troubleshoot capping and labeling equipment (semi-automated and automated), and perform manual labeling and capping as needed.
- Adhere to all quality and safety procedures, including PPE use, hazard awareness, and participation in safety activities.
- Contribute to process improvement, maintain good housekeeping and audit readiness, and assist in training personnel.
Physical Attributes:
- Wear PPE such as hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hair nets, beard covers (if applicable), Tyvek suits, shoe covers, and respirator. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted & move more than 50 pounds with assistance
- Work area may occasionally be wet, humid, abnormally hot, or cold. Sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, or crouch for the entire shift
- Use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and adjust focus
- Work with and in proximity of hazardous chemicals and human source materials
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ year experience in packaging, warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, processing, or customer service environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Fill, cap, and label chemical products
- 3+ months of experience in ISO/GMP regulated environment
- 3+ months of chemical packaging, manufacturing, or scientific/laboratory experience
- Ability to do basic math-including metrics and conversions
- Knowledge of safety rules, GMP, SOP’s, UOP’s
- Mechanical skills with ability to use pumps, electronic balances, and material handling equipment
- Troubleshoot automated packaging equipment
- Strong written and oral communication skills and problem-solving skills
- Ability to train others and work in a team setting
- Experience with hand tools
