Your Role:
The Packaging Operator 2 at the Ewing site will stage, fill, cap, label, and over pack liquid, powder, and lyophilized products per approved packaging specifications and according to safety and quality protocols. This is a hands-on packaging role that emphasizes precision, safety, and cleanliness. The main duties include:
- Shift: Friday–Sunday, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM (12-hour shifts, 3-day work week)
- Manual and semi-automated product filling (liquids, powders, hazardous substances)
- Operating and maintaining packaging equipment (cappers, labelers, pumps)
- Weighing, filtering, and transferring materials
- Working in controlled environments (clean rooms, aseptic conditions)
- Documentation and compliance with safety and quality regulations (ISO 13485, 9001, GMP)
Physical Attributes:
- Wear full PPE
- Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Work involves standing, bending, twisting for extended periods
- May be exposed to temperature extremes and hazardous materials
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- 1+ year experience in packaging, warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, processing, or a customer service environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some college coursework in chemistry or other science
- 6+ months of previous experience weighing chemicals
- 3+ months of experience in ISO/GMP regulated environment
- Ability to do basic math-including metrics and conversions
- Knowledge of safety rules, GMP, SOP’s, UOP’s
- Mechanical skills with the ability to use pumps, electronic balances, and material handling equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot automated packaging equipment
- Strong written and oral communication skills and problem-solving skills
- Ability to train others and work in a team setting
- Experience with hand tools
