Your Role:

 

MilliporeSigma in St. Louis, MO has an opening for a weekend shift Packaging Supervisor to lead a team to achieve daily objectives through employee interaction and participation.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Shift: Friday-Sunday 7am-7:30pm.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily packaging operations to ensure alignment with production schedules and quality standards.
  • Manage staffing and resource allocation, including scheduling, determining departmental needs, and participating in talent selection.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines, and represent the department during internal and external audits.
  • Mentor, train, and develop employees, providing performance feedback and supporting career growth in alignment with company goals.
  • Foster strong employee relations through regular team communication, meetings, and area walkthroughs.
  • Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives, including equipment implementation and validation efforts.
  • Review and update departmental procedures, ensuring they remain current and effective in supporting operations and compliance.

 

Physical Attributes:

 

  • May sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl for short periods of time.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and more than 50 pounds assisted.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment, “PPE,” including but not limited to hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical-resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes.
  • Involves the use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and adjusting focus.
  • Work area may occasionally be wet, humid, abnormally hot, or cold.
  • Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.

 

Who You Are:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience in a lead role position.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience with automated filling equipment.
  • Packaging, industrial, or scientific/laboratory experience or training.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience in a leadership role with demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Great interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with safe chemical handling methods and practices.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and guidelines.
  • Familiarity with packaging equipment and processes.
  • Proficient in general computer use and software such as Microsoft Suite.
