Your Role
St. Louis Laclede Operations support staffing is a critical position that will be responsible for hands-on logistical support of the St. Louis Laclede R&D facility dock receiving. Primary job functions include receiving material from offloading of trucks, vans, and any shippers to the facility, checking in material and delivery to all locations in the Laclede building, knowledge of proper shipping requirements, equipment upkeep, waste removal, lab, and office stocking.
This position will be needed to support Laclede staff of over 180 scientist and office staff that work at the Laclede Life Science building. This continued support is critical for the continued function of the research scientist to focus on new product development activities. Specific responsibilities include:
- The Dock Clerk will be responsible for loading and unloading cargo from trucks and ships, organizing and maintaining the warehouse, and ensuring that all shipments are properly labeled and stored
- Ensure that all shipments are properly labeled and stored
- Exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and inclement weather
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment
- Assist with inventory management
- Communicate with truck drivers and other warehouse staff
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
- Amend orders in SAP for received goods
- Ship R&D samples to internal company sites
- Remove waste from R&D labs at Laclede
- Help maintain stock the R&D stockroom
- Dock receiving and internal delivery
- Carboard plastic and Styrofoam recycling
- Sorting mail and delivery
- Additional building operational support
Physical Attributes:
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted & move more than 50 pounds with assistance
- The work area may occasionally be wet, humid, abnormally hot or cold
- Sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, or crouch for the entire shift
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in a warehouse or dock environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
- SAP Experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills and problem-solving skills
- Ability to independently work and communicate effectively both independently and in a team-oriented environment is essential
