Head of Customer Led Innovation, Field Based

This role is field based; can work anywhere in the US. 

 

Your Role: 

You will be an individual contributor responsible for the custom assay development pipeline for different immunoassay platforms, which include mainly MilliPlex and Single Molecule Counting (SMC) detection platforms. This position will report to the Head of R&D of Detection Systems and Assays. Your duties as Head of Customer Led Innovation will include:

 

  • Manage the Milliplex and SMC custom assay development pipeline.
  • Collaborate and interface with external clients and internal R&D departments to execute the custom assay development contracts to meet the annual business operating plan.
  • Collaborate with product management, global commercial teams and R&D to formulate a cohesive custom assay business strategy that is aligned with Life Science Biology business and innovation strategy.
  • Collaborate and partner with global commercial teams and product management team to promote our assay development capabilities with external key customers, expand the custom assay development pipeline and grow the custom assay business topline revenue.
  • Visit and interface with existing and new external key customers to promote our assay development capability and various immunoassay detection platforms, drive customer awareness to form productive long-term business relationships.
  • Interact and collaborate with internal R&D teams on project progress, prepare project update for external clients.
  • Partner with R&D teams to execute the custom assay development contracts in time with quality.
  • Partner with commercial and product management teams to establish a custom assay opportunity / contract pipeline to meet the annual business plan.
  • Contribute to the annual new product roadmapping process, bring in the voice of customer on related detection platforms.
  • Ability to travel based on project and business needs up to 50%, both domestic and international.

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in biological sciences; advanced degree in biological sciences or business a plus.
  • 10+ years of life science industry experience in the functions of R&D, sales or product management.
  • 5+ years of experience in external customer facing / commercial sales functions.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • People management experience a plus but not required.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding annual business / sales plan consistently.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including experience presenting in front of multidisciplinary audiences.
  • Effective project management, planning, financial analysis and organizational skills.
