Your Role
Reporting to the Head of Sourcing Electronics, the Global Head of Sourcing, Formulations is a strategic Business Partner for Formulated Materials, Patterning Solutions, and Planarization teams. As such you will build solid relationships with key internal stakeholders across the value chain to fully understand their business strategies, challenges, needs and requirements. As category lead this position is responsible for the management and strategic sourcing activities related to Patterning and Planarization materials required for our semiconductor facilities. You will be a key member of the Electronics Procurement Leadership Team and will contribute to the development of the Electronics Procurement Strategy.
Your Responsibilities
- You will lead the EUR 300 million global category spend covering a diverse portfolio of formulated and semiconductor materials.
- You will oversee the global sourcing of chemicals and solvents used in Lithography and Process Materials, across more than 10 operational sites in China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, France, Germany, and the United States.
- You should nurture and strengthen the relationships with our key strategic partners, including tolling partners, to build a competitive advantage and ensure access to innovation.
- You must provide an holistic procurement approach and develop sound commercial strategies for the 1.000 materials across Formulation Materials, Fine Chemicals & Resins, Contract Manufacturing, Planarization Materials and Silica Materials
- You will ensure we allocate spend intentionally and purposefully by developing and orchestrating the ecosystem of more than 400 external partners and suppliers that share our ambition and values around environmental sustainability, human rights and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- You will provide the business with the necessary information to ensure sound procurement strategies and execution plans.
- You must guide and influence regional and global supply strategies in collaboration with multi-functional teams (manufacturing, technology, and supply chain) and coordinate the development and execution of these strategies.
- You should actively manage the overall risk within the category and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- You have a minimum of a BS degree in a relevant discipline.
- You have at least 10 years experience in a global work environment in sourcing, purchasing, sales, or commercially oriented functions, ideally within the semiconductor, display, or chemical industries.
- You have strong knowledge of front-end and back-end semiconductor fabrication processes is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ideally you have a MBA or equivalent higher degree.
- You are a proven strategic thinker with a cost-sensitive approach and a demonstrable capability to manage complex negotiations.
- You have experience dealing with vendors or tollers, within supply chain management.
- You can show a track record of key stakeholder management; building effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- You are proficient in using ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
- You have a demonstrable track record in coaching, performance managing and identifying development opportunities for direct reports, ensuring appropriate succession planning and the creation of a strong development culture.
This is a position with global responsibility. The successful candidate could be based in any of the USA, Korea, Taiwan or Japan.
