Job Title: Infrastructure Project Manager

Job Location: Meguro Tokyo, Japan

Report to: Head of IT Japan

Direct report: 0 (Single contributor)

 

Job Responsibilities:
 

Key Responsibilities

The role of Infra Project manager is ownership, management and delivery of infrastructure related project. The role is responsible to understand and address business requirement, building solution which comply with the company's standards and work with global teams to ensure cost effective and deliver solution on time. This role will also be given tasks by the infrastructure team and must support the team by providing smart hands support.

The role will also be responsible for effective communication within the IT as well as business and global teams. When required, the role may become involved with operational support related to the delivered solution.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

50%  Infrastructure Project Management

20%  Local IT Security Officer

30%  Date Center Management

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Infrastructure Project Manager

This role will be accountable for all Japan related infrastructure project to work with project sponsor and key users to prioritize and visualize for all project members from cost, scope, and time perspective. The role will be responsible for assigned projects where the role will be managing the following:

  • Define project scope and deliverables, involving all relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop a detailed work breakdown and project plan to monitor and track progress to successfully manage the relationship with end users and all stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Define clear roles and responsibilities. coordinate internal resources and third parties as required for the execution of projects and in case additional resource is required, to submit project charter and submit request to management.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Manage changes to scope, schedule through project charters
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Ensure effective handover of IT solutions to the operations teams.
  • Submit weekly report to report project progress
  • Prepare Japan IT expense report monthly basis
  • Manage Japan IT admin assistant (Contractor)

 

  1. Local IT Security Officer

The role will coordinate and liaise security related activity with Global IT Security team to support Japan business users. These tasks will include the following:

  • Coordinates and supports security review process like high level risk assessment and data classification whenever start using new application.
  • Provides security awareness training for employees and contractors like security orientation to newly hired staff and periodical security awareness communication for existing employee.
  • Support customer questionnaire from IT security related question

 

  1. Data Center Management

The role will be responsible for all aspects of running the company's Tokyo Data Center and Data room in all Japan sites. These tasks will include the following:

  • Lead and support in project, maintenance, and support of Tokyo data center and date room in all sites.
  • Configure and test and troubleshoot for all servers in Japan.
  • Resolve escalated technical issues.
  • Operate data backup management.

 

Key Skills

  • In depth knowledge of project management (Required)
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving skills (Required)
  • Basic knowledge of server/network/hardware (Required)
  • Vendor management skill (Required)
  • Work on multiple critical tasks simultaneously in pressure environment. (Required)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills on-site & remotely (Required)

 

Experience

  • 5+ years managing Infrastructure related projects (Required)
  • 5+ years hands on experience in supporting end users as desktop support (Required)
  • 5+ years of experience working in international and diversified organization (Required)
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Project management (Required)
  • 5+ years of experience with global IT project Japan rollout (Required)

 

Certification

- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science (Required)

- PMP certified (Desired)

- Valid Driver’s license (Required)

 

Language

- Business-level Japanese speaker (Required)

- Business-level English speaker (Required)

- Strong English abilities to discuss, negotiate, and persuade with stakeholders in global teleconference (Desired)
