このポジションでは、サイエンスの知識やコミュニケーションスキルなどのバックグラウンドを活かして頂くのみでなく、お客様に当社のソリューションを提供し、市場シェアを獲得するために活動するというオペレーション的な要素も含まれています。

 

責任範囲

  1. 担当セグメント(主に化学産業)におけるビジネスディベロップメント:70
  • 既存顧客との接点を持ち、マルチレベルの関係を構築。
  • 顧客のニーズを理解し、化学品及びバイオロジー製品のバルクの案件に結びつける。
    • 技術的な観点から顧客のニーズや問題点を理解し、顧客からの問い合わせをフォロー
    • 国内・海外の適切な社内リソースと連携してソリューションを提供
  • 化学品や一般産業分野での新規顧客やビジネスチャンスを特定し、関係を構築。
  • 営業チームと協力しながら、顧客の問い合わせに対応。コマーシャル関係の問い合わせには、提案依頼(RFP)、見積書などが含まれる。
  • 社内の関連チーム(営業、カスタマーサービス、テクニカルサービス、サプライチェーン、マーケティング)と連携し、顧客のニーズを確実に満たし、顧客の要求が関係者全体に十分に伝達されるようにする。
  • KOLやその他の主要なステークホルダーと密接な関係を築く。

 

  1. 顧客やパートナーに対して、ブランドや製品を対外的に位置づける:20
  • プロモーション活動、会議、可能な限りのワークショップ&イベントサポート。
  • 営業や他の組織とのコミュニケーションを取りつつ、戦略・計画を実行し、収益目標を達成する。
  • 製品のポジショニング、ブランドエクイティ、顧客満足度、マーケティング効果の影響を評価するために、VOCを直接収集する。

 

  1. 日本で開発された新技術の商業化支援:10
  • 国内の顧客が希望する新製品・新サービスの立ち上げに向けて、グローバルプロダクトマネージャーを支援する。

 

応募資格

  • 化学、生物学、分析化学、または関連する化学分野のMSまたはMSc
  • 3年以上の実務経験があり、プロダクトマーケティング、アプリケーションスペシャリスト、テクニカルリエゾン、セールスイネーブルメントなどの業務に携わっていること。

Purpose

Life Science's Research Solutions business supports customers in a variety of industries by providing solutions through innovative products and services. Life Science Chemistry (LSC) Business Development Specialist in Commercial Marketing is responsible to identify business opportunities, communicate with customers to solve their pain points, and follow up on technical and commercial queries to achieve business growth, primarily in chemical industry segment in Japan. Not only leveraging strong background in science knowledge and communication skills, but also this position includes an operational element as we work together to deliver our solutions to customers and gain our market share.

 

Essential Job Functions

The role will be split as follows:

  1. Develop the business in the assigned segment (mainly chemical industry): 70%
  • Connect with existing customers to establish multi-level relationships.
  • Materialize customers’ needs into chemicals and biology bulk sales by:
  • Understanding customers’ needs and pain points from technical standpoint and follow up queries from customers.
  • Providing solutions working with appropriate internal resource, both domestic and overseas.
  • Identify new customers and business opportunities in chemical and general industry segment and further relationship.
  • Handle commercial queries while working with regional sales team. Commercial queries include Request for Proposals (RFP), quotation and others.
  • Liaise with relevant internal teams (Sales, Customer Service, Technical Service, Supply Chain, Marketing) to ensure that customer needs are met and that customer requirements are fully communicated throughout the business.
  • Establish close relationships with KOLs and other key stakeholders.

 

  1. Position the brand and products externally with customers and partners: 20%
  • Support promotional activities, conferences, possible workshops & events.
  • Communicate and align with sales and other organizations to activate the plan and achieve revenue targets.
  • Collect VOC directly to assess impact of product positioning, brand equity, customer satisfaction and marketing effectiveness.

 

  1. Support commercialization of new technology developed in Japan: 10%
  • Support global product managers to launch new products and service that domestic companies offer.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • MS or MSc in Chemistry, Biology, Analytical Chemistry, or related science fields.
  • At least 3 years of work experience within a large establishment with hands on exposure to commercial marketing, application specialist, technical liaison, sales enablement.

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge and exposure in one or more of the following areas is a plus: Chemistry, Biology or bulk chemical business
  • Knowledge and experience of market dynamics and regulatory environment in Chemical industry and Pharma industry is a plus
  • Be comfortable discussing and consulting on most technical topics
  • Communication skills in English
  • Understanding of marketing principles and commercial drivers in a diversified product industry
  • Market intelligence skills around research, data collection, and analysis
  • Ability to analyze and resolve or assist personnel in solving complex sales problems, oversee root cause investigations and the preparation of written report of findings
  • Persuasion and negotiation skills in a global environment
  • Work experience within matrix organizations and networking in cross-functional teams
