Job Title: Application Specialist - Microbiology QC

Location: Field-Based (Middle East, either in Dubai, UAE or Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Application Specialist for Microbiology Quality Control (QC) to join our team. This field-based position will support and work closely with our sales team and distributor sales teams to provide expert knowledge and application support for our microbiology products and solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiology, quality control processes, and excellent communication skills to effectively engage with customers and stakeholders. The geographical scope will be the Middle East and may expand to North Africa. We focus on Industrial Microbiology QC as it pertains to Pharma QC, Food and Beverage, Cosmetic, and other markets. The person will work closely with other businesses in Life Science to drive ONEMerck. Knowledge in other fields, such as water purification systems or biology, is a nice add-on.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide solution-oriented consultative training, technical support, and troubleshooting at customer sites and remotely.
• Collaborate closely with distributors to provide expert knowledge and application support.
• Engage with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards and practices.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) within the industry to enhance product visibility and credibility.
• Work alongside the sales team to identify customer needs and develop tailored solutions.
• Effectively work with customers to achieve efficient implementation and go-live of new instrumentation.
• Retain business and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance customer engagement.
• Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and workshops for customers and internal teams.
• Assist in the development of marketing materials and technical documentation related to microbiology products.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and advancements in microbiology QC.
• Support the resolution of customer inquiries and technical issues related to microbiology products.
• Maintain accurate documentation in our company CRM system.
• Participate in trade shows, conferences, and customer visits to promote our company’s microbiology solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, Biology, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Arabic; other languages are nice to have.
• Proven experience in microbiology QC, laboratory practices, and application support.
• Experience in pathogen testing, strong value add.
• Strong understanding of microbiological testing methods and regulatory standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to travel frequently to meet with customers and support sales activities.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
