PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Lead RD project for thin film material development. Conduct experiment, collect data, optimize process parameters and complete RD report. Ensure consistency in product development and pilot production with the highest standards of Merck safety and quality policies.
  2. Fulfill materials processing, sampling, analysis and application requests from customers in China.
  3. Develop system operation and troubleshooting procedures. Maintain equipment performance and establish quality standards. Conduct continuous improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
  4. Provide technical supports to commercial and production teams. Develop and maintain relationships with internal global labs.
  5. Enable cross sharing of learning, insight and experience between team members.
  6. Participate in intellectual property development.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. MS degree or above in science and engineering fields. Educational background of chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or electronics is a plus.
  2. At least 2 years of research and working experience in chemical industry or semiconductor industry. 
  3. In-depth understanding of chemical reaction and process. Solid knowledge and experience on material handling and equipment operation for one or more domains, including synthesis, purification, sampling, formulating, analysis, etc. Relevant experience on thin film deposition materials is a plus.
  4. Demonstrate creativity and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to coordinate resource, lead project independently, and complete RD report. 
  5. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills that support a diverse, cross-functional, multicultural team environment.
  6. Effective English skills (verbal and written) for internal communication.
  7. Flexibility for domestic and international traveling.
