Your role:

The Account Manager position is a field sales position. The  Account Manager  manages sales processes in an assigned territory in accordance with approved sales and marketing plans.  The Account Manager has an understanding of applications relating to the company’s services and is able to communicate the relevant service benefits and value. This knowledge and appropriate sales skills are used to successfully promote the company and sell the companies services to achieve, or exceed the assigned territory sales plan.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Consistently achieve or exceed the territory sales plan by applying a working knowledge of Professional, Consultative and Strategic Selling skills to maintain existing business, developing incremental business in existing accounts, and prospecting to develop new accounts.
  • Demonstrate use of selling skills in the field, such as making good opening statements, rapidly establishing a rapport with the customer, asking effective open questions, creating the value proposition and closing.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships, at all levels within assigned accounts to influence purchasing decisions.
  • Develop, maintain and execute a Strategic Business Plan for the assigned territory to demonstrate effective territory planning and management skills.
  • Develop profiles of key accounts to identify key decision makers, influencers and opinion leaders.
  • Maintain and increase current customer database through Company customer relations management software (Salesforce.com CRM).
  • Utilise available data sources to analyse and capitalise on territory opportunities with the greatest ROI.  Communicate key competitive activities, trends, and changing customer development plans and priorities, which include emerging customers.
  • Attain or exceed assigned sales goals, profit goals, and market share goals consistently with respect to expense guidelines.
  • Develop and implement account specific strategic plans.
  • Formulate and recommend pricing strategies for key accounts.

 

Who you are:

Education:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience.

 

Experience:

 

  • Requires a minimum of 3+ years of relevant sales / technical sales experience or equivalent, ideally balanced in a contract testing service environment of bio-manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant industry experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment is required. Experience within a regulated environment and ability to interact effectively with quality assurance / quality control professionals
  • Strong negotiating skills required. As “voice of the expert”, provide effective communication and working relationships with customers.
