Your Role:
Our company is seeking a Licensing and Business Development Associate Director with a focus on Biological Sciences and Chemistry within Science and Lab Solutions. In this role, you will identify and execute external partnerships aligned with our franchise strategy. You will source and manage a broad network of partners in the APAC region, with a special emphasis on China, aiming to develop a robust pipeline of strategic partnerships and licensing opportunities that contribute to our annual revenue and margin targets. Deal types will include, but are not limited to, co-development, licensing, distribution, co-marketing, OEM, and research collaborations. You will be responsible for scouting partners, evaluating and negotiating deals, and drafting and executing contracts while coordinating with multiple cross-functional stakeholders, including R&D, legal, product management, regulatory, and quality.
Travel, including international, may be required up to 30% of the time. Candidates should be open to any location with close proximity to an airport.
Who You Are:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science AND 5+ years of industry experience in corporate development, strategic partnerships (non-sales), or BD&L, with demonstrated closure of deals valued at (10NPV) >= 10M USD.
Or
Graduate Degree in a Scientific field AND 3+ years of industry experience in corporate development, strategic partnerships (non-sales), or BD&L, with demonstrated closure of deals valued at (10NPV) >= 10M USD.
A deal sheet is required as an attachment to your application.
Demonstrated experience in negotiation, along with knowledge of basic contract language and contract negotiation.
Strong financial acumen with the ability to build and defend financial analyses and business cases, including discounted cash flows (DCFs) for both consumables and digital assets.
Excellent networking and intelligence-gathering skills.
Ability to operate as an individual contributor in ambiguous situations, with shifting priorities and limited resources.
Strong presentation skills targeted at C-suite audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA.
Experience working within a matrixed environment.
Understanding of IP protections, contract negotiations, and venture capital.
Proficiency in Mandarin, German, or French.
