Title: Analyst/Senior Analyst - Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Bangalore – Electronic City
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- This role is for an expert for configuration of Manufacturing Applications within Company’s Life Science’s Engineering Organization. The group within Engineering is the team of Smart Manufacturing and Digital Operations (SMDO), and more specifically within the SMDO Digital Plant team. Your primary responsibilities include the following:
- Expertise to configure, author workflows and deliver application configurations within MES, EBR and DH applications to fit the needs of specific business needs within our Global Operations network.
- You will work with Digital Plant team member(s) to first understand business needs with or Digital Plant team, then help scope, and then create a development and rollout plan per project, or initiative.
- Once the development and rollout plan is created, the core work will consist of creating application content which will be put into a productive environment for one or more sites in our network.
- For MES and EBR, your primary focus will be to create MBRs, recipes, workflows and configurations needed for MES and EBR applications, Master Batch Record and Recipe authoring.
- Your secondary focus for MES and EBR will be to our Digital Plant team create standard applications, MBRs, Recipes, standard templates or library elements in one or more of our applications.
- For Data Historian, your primary focus will be to create and implement equipment and system connections and configurations for GxP and non GxP processes.
- Your secondary focus for Data Historian will be to create standard visualization models for various equipment types or groups
- You will also at times collaborate with site teams, Quality and Digital Plant team on specific projects to better understand the context of the business needs so that your development plan and final configurations will be able to satisfy the site expectations.
- You will use your knowledge and expertise to translate complex manufacturing business processes to workable production ready components.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
- The purpose of the Manufacturing Applications Expert position within Company’s SMDO Digital Plant is to contribute to project and strategic execution of manufacturing projects within the Company Life Science network. This global role is created to digitize manufacturing operations at prioritized sites and with specific projects. This will be done so that Company Life Science will increase overall site and network efficiency by digitizing our processes. We will do this by driving paperless manufacturing for Company Life Science. Specifically, the position serves the following key purposes:
- Work as part of team to deliver value to our sites as a manufacturing system expert.
- Drive digital value to our sites.
- Drive scalable and reproducible results for manufacturing.
- Build in quality aspects into all manufacturing applications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
We are seeking a proactive, flexible, and passionate team player capable of working effectively in a global environment, with a strong willingness to learn and contribute to the success of the SMDO Digital Plant team, and for our global operations.
Requirements:
- Creating Maser Batch Records, Recipes, workflows for manufacturing processes
- Creating Aveva PI equipment connections, configurations and PI vision visualizations
- Demonstrated ability to work productively in a global environment with a proven background in effective collaboration within international teams.
- Capacity to handle a high workload with a work history of delivering high performance consistently over time.
- Strong professional-level communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers in an intercultural environment.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and tackling challenges collectively.
- Proficiency in English is essential.
- You must possess some IT tool management skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint and Visio for MS Office.
- You must be able to communicate your understanding of a physical manufacturing process and show how your design and configuration will meet these objectives to digitize them.
BASIC QUALIFICATION:
Education:
- A university degree, preferably a BS from an accredited university or college, with a degree in an engineering or science discipline.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant working experience with an international company, ideally supporting Manufacturing Operations, or consulting role servicing manufacturing operations.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing GxP environments, with a proven track record in delivering relevant workstreams within larger projects both on quality and on schedule.
- An ideal candidate would have 2-4 years’ experience as an MES engineer with a focus on Life Sciences or BioPharma with one or more of the following MES or EBR systems – for example Siemen’s OpCenter, Körber Pharma PAS-X, Rockwell Pharma Suite, but also other systems such as GE Proficy, Parsec Tracksys, Dassault 3DS Biovia, Apprentice.io Tempo, ProLeiT Plant I.T., Master Control
- Alternatively, an ideal candidate would have 2-4 years’ experience as an expert using the Aveve PI Data Historian in both GxP and non GxP manufacturing environments.
Technical Skills / Competencies:
- Excellent knowledge of designing configuring and releasing master batch records and workflows
- Excellent knowledge of how to deliver equipment configurations with Aveva PI.
