Purpose of the role:

  • The position is to drive structural global process improvement for FP&A for Life Sciences business sector towards high quality and early business insights generation, standardization as well as automation teaming up with sector controlling, IT, accounting, innovation and analytics team and the business and enabling functions stakeholders.
  • Help develop the key capabilities in MBS to support the Company strategy and transformation initiatives.

High level Process Scope: Finance Data governance and management for a business sector, financial planning and analysis includes management reporting and financial analysis, change management

 

Your role:

The role is responsible for steering the right process applicable to MBS FP&A for the Life Sciences business sector, by working closely with operation units, sector controlling/finance LT, Accounting, IT, Data & Apps, Enabling functions and other stakeholders. 

  • Drive and implement the internal and external best practices in providing financial planning and analysis support tailored to the specific needs of the  business sector, ensuring alignment with enterprise as well as MBS objectives.
  • Partner with business finance leaders within assigned business verticals to understand financial objectives and priorities.
  • Co-own the tools, applications, system, policy and process design for the business sector by working closely with relevant stakeholders. 
  • Define and implement process governance aligned with BPM team to cover such as, but not limited to, process change control, process compliance, documentation and maintenance and also define the process control and risk points and audit follow up.
  • Work closely with the data team to ensure data governance is executed.
  • Drive report and data quality and effectiveness for the business by working closely with business, Group/ Sector Controlling and other accounting operation teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within FP&A processes, leveraging best practices and automation solutions.

(b) Stakeholder Management:

Collaborate with business sector leaders, FP&A Functional Solution Leader (FSL), FP&A Transformation Lead, and other MBS and FP&A stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and strategies.

Act as a liaison between the FP&A function and sector controlling, advocating for their needs and priorities within the broader organization.

(c) Reporting Organization:

Report directly to the FSL FP&A.

Collaborate with business sector finance, other business vertical account managers and FP&A team members to drive cohesive financial planning and analysis efforts.

 

Who you are:

  • Minimum 13+ years of experience in finance, preferably within the pharmaceutical or related manufacturing industries and particularly in FP&A operation in big multinational organization and/or captive Shared Services / GBS organizations.
  • Proven track record of leading and coordinating strategic initiatives within a global organization, with experience in setting interfaces and aligning functional strategies.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, systems landscape and capabilities, with experience in driving process scope expansion and penetration across business sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including MBS Strategy & Transformation, Service Delivery Organizations, Enabling Functions, and Business Sectors.
  • Experience in participating in strategy design and driving strategic initiatives in alignment with overall MBS and finance objectives.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and align stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field required; MBA, CA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

 

Functional & personal skills

  • Knowledge and implementation experience of S/4, CFIN, central reporting tools, data lake/ modelling and relevant FP&A tools are definitely preferred
  • Expertise on Tableau & SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or equivalent, Business Intelligence and/or Business Objects Finance and advanced Ms Excel+PowerPoint.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to effectively engage and manage relationships with a diverse group of internal stakeholders, including MBS FSL Organization, extended leadership, Strategy & Transformation team, Hubs, Centers, and CAOs.
  • Communication and Influence: Strong communication skills are essential for effectively conveying FP&A strategies, mobilizing stakeholders, and driving organizational culture shifts. The ability to influence decision-making processes is crucial in this role.
  • Strategic Thinking: A strategic mindset is necessary to align FP&A initiatives with overall company objectives, contribute to the finance transformation program targets, and drive long-term value creation for the organization.
  • Change Management: Experience in managing organizational change is critical for facilitating the required cultural shift and upskilling of the workforce to adapt to new finance processes and solutions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functions and geographies, both internally with enabling functions leadership, sector leadership teams, and externally with implementation partners and outsourcing providers.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, processes, and systems is essential for driving process scope expansion, capability definition, and delivery.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Proven leadership skills are required to lead and coordinate strategic initiatives, as well as to enable and empower teams to execute on FP&A strategies effectively.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: Given the dynamic nature of the industry and the complexity of global operations, the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and navigate challenges with resilience is crucial for success in this role.
