Your role You will own our finance data products and interfaces, set the roadmap for scalable reporting, and supervise one analyst. Partnering with Controlling, Manufacturing Finance, and IT, you’ll define standards for data quality, lead interface and model changes, and ensure reliable planning and reporting across IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP BW, and SQL-based transformations at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany.

 

What you’ll do

  • Strategy and ownership: Define and own the core finance data source and semantic layer; design transformations and standards for data quality and reconciliation.
  • Interface leadership: Prioritize and steer the finance data interface backlog with developers; plan environments and cutovers; approve UAT and production releases.
  •  
  • Reporting roadmap: Shape Management 2.0 reporting (KPIs, semantic model); guide SQL transformation design and peer reviews. Manage visualization and data availability, together with the Specialist. 
  • Finance cycles oversight: Oversee the Capitalized Variance calculation and reporting, and Operating Cost reporting.
  • Testing and change governance: Set release calendar, test strategy, and documentation standards; ensure traceability and auditability.
  • Stakeholder management: Communicate changes and risks; align with Finance/IT and external partners; present status and outcomes.
  • Team leadership: Supervise and coach one analyst; review outputs; promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Reliability: Act as escalation point; safeguard dashboard availability and service SLAs.
 

Who you are

  • 6–10 years in FP&A/Controlling data products, BI/application ownership, or EPM.
  • Strong hands‑on with IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC); proficient SQL; working knowledge of SAP BW/ERP data models.
  • Track record leading interfaces/backlogs, UAT, and change management in global environments.
  • Deep understanding of master data, mappings, reconciliations, and restatement processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation; comfortable with month/quarter‑end timelines.
  • People leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Nice to have: Manufacturing finance exposure; Tableau/Power BI.

  • Bengaluru hybrid; comfortable with partial overlap to European time zones.
