Senior Manager – Linux Unix HPC Computing

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Linux/Unix & HPC Computing to lead a team of senior engineers and architects responsible for enterprise infrastructure across on-premises data centers and cloud environments.

This role combines technical leadership, infrastructure strategy, people management, operational excellence, and technology transformation. The successful candidate will be accountable for developing and operating secure, highly available, resilient, automated, and cost-effective infrastructure platforms that support critical business needs.

The role will be based in Bangalore, India.

Your Role:

• Lead the engineering, operations, modernization, and lifecycle management of enterprise Linux/Unix, high-performance computing (HPC), cloud, containerization, clustered storage, and data center infrastructure.
• Define and implement enterprise standards for configuration management, automation, orchestration, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, observability, and self-service capabilities.
• Establish and maintain high-availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and resilience strategies for critical infrastructure services.
• Own patch management, vulnerability remediation, configuration compliance, security hardening, and technology lifecycle management across infrastructure platforms.
• Drive infrastructure standardization, automation, proactive capacity planning, reliability improvements, and the reduction of technical debt and operational complexity.
• Manage infrastructure software licensing, asset lifecycles, vendor relationships, support agreements, contracts, renewals, service-level agreements, and related commercial activities in collaboration with Procurement and Finance.
• Partner closely with Security, Network, Storage, Cloud, Application, Architecture, Service Management, and other technology teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions and enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Lead major infrastructure projects, technology assessments, migrations, upgrades, data center initiatives, and transformation programs.
• Provide technical leadership during complex incidents, ensuring timely resolution, thorough root-cause analysis, effective remediation, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and execute infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business strategy, technology standards, security requirements, operational priorities, and cost objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop senior engineers and architects while fostering a culture of technical excellence, automation, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Serve as a trusted technology partner to senior stakeholders, translating business requirements into scalable, reliable, secure, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 10–15 years of experience in enterprise Linux/Unix systems, high-performance computing, configuration management, orchestration, integration, clustered enterprise storage, cloud computing, Infrastructure as Code, and platform engineering.
• At least 7 years of experience leading teams in an international environment.
• Significant experience leading enterprise infrastructure engineering and operations in complex, large-scale environments.
• Strong technical expertise in Linux/Unix and enterprise infrastructure platforms, with experience spanning on-premises data centers and cloud environments.
• Proven experience in configuration management, automation, orchestration, patch management, high availability and disaster recovery, vulnerability management, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Experience managing data center infrastructure, vendors, software licensing, contracts, renewals, service-level agreements, and technology budgets.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure security, reliability, resilience, risk management, and operational governance.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating effectively with technology and business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop senior technical professionals.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to move confidently between detailed technical discussions and senior-level strategic conversations.
