Job Title: Linux-Unix Administrator

Mandatory: Unix proficiency, Scripting and Automation tools, Python and other programming language, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Optional: Ansible, Jenkins, AWS, Docker / Kubernetes

Qualifications:

• Experience in a technical support software/application environment troubleshooting software applications.
• Must have relevant experience with LINUX/UNIX administration along with:
  • Proficiency with installing and removing software for Linux, including pre-built packages, and compiling from source.
  • Familiarity with VMWare and understanding of Storage technologies (SAN, NAS, SSD) and concepts
  • Experience with automation of day to task with scripting (Shell, Bash, Perl, Python, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
  • Strong Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Debian, etc.) experience
  • Experience engaging internal stakeholders and external vendors when needed, to solve complex problems or issues

• Experience with cloud (private or public) environments: AWS/Azure would be highly considered.
• Security concepts (authorization, authentication, LINUX groups, ACL’s, LDAP/AD, etc)
• Experience/Knowledge in Python and/or similar third-generation programming language
• Experience with Docker (or other container technology/orchestration: Kubernetes, Mesosphere, etc.)
• Proven ability to exercise good judgement and demeanor in dealing with user’s technical issues
• Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audience
• Must be able to translate concepts and directions into practical solutions
• Experience and understanding of large scale multi-tier environments including design, capacity planning, performance tuning and monitoring
