Your role:

• Articulate technical architecture effectively through current and future state diagrams, solution best practices, reference architectures, and design patterns, aligning with business requirements and incorporating feedback from chemi-informatics and engineering teams.
• Support data-driven decision-making by evaluating architectures and identifying strengths and weaknesses.
• Implement API-first strategy, delivering high-volume APIs while assessing existing implementations for performance bottlenecks.
• Design integrations and propose scalable solutions (both horizontal and vertical scalability).
• Lead pivotal technical discussions on transformative technologies, considering both technical and non-technical perspectives.
• Collaborate with security teams to integrate robust security controls and apply best practices throughout the code development life cycle.
• Drive Cloud technology adoption by designing and evaluating technical architectures for new services and features, engaging stakeholders, and leveraging innovative technology developments for both new implementations and enhancements to existing ones.

Who you are:

Demonstrated extensive abilities and/or a proven track record of success in:

• Over 8 years of experience in developing web applications with deep knowledge of software engineering principles and design patterns.
• Proficiency across the full technology stack, including Python 3, Django, Angular/React, and PostgreSQL.
• Leading the design and implementation of fundamental architectural changes in collaboration with application teams.
• Advocating for a Cloud-first methodology, leveraging cloud-native services, and fostering increased enterprise maturity.
• Evaluating cloud technology alternatives and advocating for the best approach, including hands-on proof of concept work in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud products.
• Managing relationships with application teams and computational science teams, prioritizing multiple projects from design through to production.
• Collaborating with teams across the company (e.g., network, security, operations) to build comprehensive cloud offerings.
• Designing Disaster Recovery and backup strategies to meet application objectives.

Preferred Skills:

• Degree in Chemistry or related discipline.
• Experience in Chemi-informatics.
