Your Role:
- The Team Lead will manage and oversee the entire tariff classification and product screening process for the team. This role provides leadership on all HTS classification activities, ensures compliance with domestic and global trade regulations. The Team Lead will guide cross-functional initiatives, mentor staff, and partner with senior leadership on regulatory changes, risk mitigation, and tariff determinations.
- Lead, manage and support the tariff classification and product screening process, ensuring compliance with both international and domestic trade regulations.
- Develop and implement procedures and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in classification and screening tasks.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of reports and documentation related to tariff classifications and product screening.
- Manage and mentor a team of trade compliance professionals; plan workloads, provide coaching, and develop professional growth plans.
- Direct cross-functional initiatives to ensure correct product classification
- Advise senior leadership on regulatory changes, risks, and strategic actions related to HTS codes and tariffs in chemical and life sciences sectors
Who You are:
- Post-Graduation degree in Chemistry or Life Sciences.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years in trade compliance / a related field or 2 to 3 years of people management experience with strong knowledge of life science products.
- Basic Knowledge on tariff classification and product screening.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to implement process improvements and ensure continuous compliance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with compliance management tools and databases.
