Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate professional to join our Philippines’s Healthcare Leadership team as the Head of Market Access, Pricing, and Government Affairs. This role is pivotal in expanding access and optimizing pricing for our Healthcare portfolio in the Philippines.
You will engage with key stakeholders in the healthcare sector to shape policies and oversee government affairs. The position combines strategic planning with day-to-day operations, offering a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth while making a significant impact on patients and the business. You will collaborate closely with the APAC Regional Market Access & Pricing function and the global Government Affairs team to drive initiatives that enhance our presence and effectiveness in the market.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications and Experience:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry with minimum 5 years in market access & pricing and/or governmental affairs role.
- Graduate degree or management / equivalent experience.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Filipino language.
- Experience in business partnering with members of a Country Leadership Team and regional stakeholders in a matrix organization to deliver on joint objectives.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to contribute expertise to country, regional and global franchise strategies.
- Strong understanding of Philippine healthcare system and payer environment and ability to navigate network with relevant stakeholders to translate trends & insights into tangible actions.
- Demonstrated impact in advancing market access in complex and competitive environment.
- Solution oriented mindset to bring together evidence, access, pricing and government / public affairs.
- Experience in developing commercial business cases and value communication and developing and implementing alternative contracting models.
- First experience in developing Health Economics models, writing dossiers based on appraisal of clinical and economic data is an advantage.
- Experience with Real World Evidence generation & utilization is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Access & Pricing Strategy: Develop and implement an integrated market access strategy that outlines priorities, plans, and actions, including external engagement. Collaborate with business units and the APAC region to develop pricing and access strategies for launch and in-line brands.
- Strategic Pricing Management: Create robust business cases with a solid understanding of commercial potential. Optimize pricing across the portfolio to protect value and enhance profitability. Maintain insights on competitor strategies, ensuring compliance with global and local pricing SOPs.
- Key Account Management: Identify and prioritize key accounts, including hospital decision-makers and clinical budget holders. Support hospital listing strategies and monitor changes in hospital dynamics to optimize pricing and contracts.
- Government Affairs: Develop and execute a Philippine Government Affairs strategy to understand and influence healthcare trends and policies impacting the business. Establish relationships with major payers and advocate for the company’s interests.
- Networking and Collaboration: Actively network with public institutions and manage advocacy efforts. Identify areas of collaboration with stakeholders to advance business interests and develop strategic approaches to engage with local trade associations.

- Real-World Evidence Generation: Experience in utilizing real-world evidence is a plus.
- Market Access Strategy Development: Ability to create and implement strategies to enhance access to pharmaceutical products in the Philippine market.
- Pricing Optimization: Expertise in developing competitive pricing strategies that maximize profitability while ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, and government officials.
- Health Economics Knowledge: Proficiency in utilizing health economics models to support value propositions and communicate the economic benefits of products.
- Negotiation Skills: Ability to lead negotiations with government agencies and healthcare institutions to achieve favorable access and pricing outcomes.
- Data Analysis: Competence in analyzing market data and trends to inform strategic decision-making and optimize market access initiatives.
- Public Affairs Acumen: Understanding of government policies and healthcare regulations affecting the pharmaceutical industry, with the ability to advocate for the company’s interests.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong teamwork abilities to effectively collaborate with various internal departments, such as regulatory affairs, medical, and commercial teams.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of local pricing regulations and compliance requirements to ensure adherence in all market access activities.
- Change Management: Capability to drive change initiatives and promote a culture of agility and adaptability within the organization.
