As General Ledger (GL) Accounting Team Lead in a global Shared Service Center, you oversee the operations of a GL team on a daily basis to ensure realization of service objectives within set guidelines/policies.

 

Your Role:

 

OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT:

  • Ensure the operations team meets and exceeds the KPI target set for the organization.  Drive the delivery of process and organizational KPI’s measured & reported monthly. 
  • You manage and oversee your team in providing the internal customers with financial data/reports, manage accounting processes, post to the general ledger, handle sub-ledger activities such inventory, payroll and benefits, accounts receivable, reconcile/maintain bank accounts, perform local statutory / regulatory activities. In addition, your team is responsible for preparing financial statements, performing financial analysis and (pre-)audit tasks.
  • You handle escalations, perform advanced processing for specific GL activities of a more complex/sensitive nature and provide sign-offs or approvals where needed.
  • In addition, you leverage your expertise to constantly seek out better ways of performing processes, to contribute to process excellence initiatives, to support operational performance reporting activities and to ensure qualification, motivation and development of your team members.
  • You ensure compliance to both Internal/External Audit requirements and full execution of defined internal controls in the operation.
  •  You ensure continuous and timely down-stream and upstream communication for all (direct/indirect) for matters concerning GL operations. 
  • You implement, improve and support organizational stability, continuity and development for the General Ledger Operations aligned to Organizational goals and targets. 
  • You drive and support improvement initiatives and projects of the General Ledger Operations.  
  • Review and analyze requirements, take an active role as consultant, decision-maker and provides sign off and approval as necessary. 
  • Create collaborative relationship with key stakeholders and project team.

 

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT:

  • Leads performance review discussions with stakeholders on a regular basis. 
  • Builds partnership for both internal and external stakeholders. Serves as first level of escalation from internal customers. 
  • Drives solutions and actions plans and ensures follow through actions are monitored and in placed. 
  • Establish good communication channel between Manila Business Service Center and stakeholders by having sound engagement plan that is strategic, clear, effective and sustainable.

 

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

  • Provides leadership and supervisory duties to the team. 
  • Supports training and continuously motivates and supervise employees in order to optimize workplace productivity and promote professional growth. Supports talent acquisition, optimization, and retention while providing continued support for the business and guidance for the employees. 
  • Ensures regular performance reviews with effective follow-through via strategic performance coaching, mentoring and regular 1:1s. 
  • Promotes and supports people engagement.

 

Who you are:

 Bachelor degree in finance and accounting or related field required

  • Master’s Degree in Finance / Accounting or CPA licensed preferred
  • More than 5 yrs. of experience in End to End General Ledger Accounting including Closing, Reporting & Consolidation process.
  • 3+ yrs. of experience in manager or team lead function required
  • Profound accounting knowledge required
  • Experience in a local entity set-up and also Shared Services Center preferred
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP system required (Local legacy system, e.g. Scala)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
  • Fluent English language skills required
  • Good Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Good people, stakeholder and customer management skills
