Your Role:

 

You implement and maintain technical and non-technical cybersecurity controls within BMAs (Business Managed Applications) and IT-Managed Applications. As a member of the Life Science Sector Cyber Security team, you will consult and support cyber security operations among our Life Science business units and sites to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s IT assets as well as on software-based products and applications. Your main task is ensuring that cybersecurity policies, standards, controls, and regulatory requirements are properly understood and implemented. Examples of non-technical controls: you work with Corporate teams to embed controls in applications procurement, support sites when planning the Application Life-Cycle management to guarantee that security processes are applied. You have solid skills to cooperate with global IT, Cybersecurity teams in a matrix organizations, along side with Function Security Managers. You are a sector reference for these Managers. Participate in application, infrastructure, and business projects to provide security-planning advice. Together with the IT, BMA, and Security Architects, you plan, deliver, and document security architecture for various security solutions and projects within the given BF. Determine baseline security configuration standards for e.g., operating systems (e.g., OS hardening), network segmentation, and identity and access management (IAM), digital and data assets in analytical platforms, cloud, or hybrid platforms. Participate in a Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) to cover major information security incidents on a sector-wide level. Development of cybersecurity awareness and training curriculum. Ensure business function security training and awareness programs are defined and executed. Identify required skills for the organization, assess skill gaps, and acquire or upskill talent to address knowledge gaps.

 

Who you are: 

 

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and build consensus with teams across organizational lines.
  • Ability to analyze security issues, manage conflicting priorities, and recommend a course of action with both a technical and business perspective.
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse team consisting of developers, architects, project managers, etc., and liaise with peer division security leads and Head of Security Department.
  • Proven information security competency through professional designation/certifications, such as CISSP, IISP, CRISC, CCSP, CISA or CISM. 
  • Experience with security risk management frameworks based on industry standards (e.g., ISO27005, NIST, BSI) and regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, including proven ability to influence peer-level stakeholders. Working experience with both technology and business leadership. Proven ability to manage large/complex projects.
  • Fluent in English, additional language skills (e.g., German) considered an advantage.
