The Role 

 

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Manager to join our team in Cork. Reporting to the Head of Operations (Medical and Analytical devices), the Maintenance  Manager is responsible for leading the activities of the Maintenance teams which involves defining, designing and implementing overall maintenance strategy for the area of responsibility and ensuring it is applied effectively to achieve asset performance and cost in line with world class standards.

The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of dedicated technical professionals (Supervisors, technicians & engineers) and coordinate all maintenance activities in support of day to day production in a safe, cost-effective and environmentally sound manner, assuring capacity and achieving plant performance metrics. This role is a key member of the Cork Extended Leadership team (ELT) responsible for delivering all targets & metrics within the operational areas.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership of safety initiatives and practices to develop and maintain an injury free workplace Develop and deliver a maintenance strategy (including autonomous, preventative and predictive maintenance) in partnership with other leaders within the plant.
  • Manage Maintenance capital improvement projects to cost, schedule & time
  • Drives the Maintenance and Reliability initiative focused on Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, not reactive.
  • Maintain and develop a maintenance management system. Establish sustainable system for effective management and control of technical documentation, maintenance routines, maintenance scheduling and spare parts.
  • Establish appropriate maintenance metrics to improve overall asset life, maintenance productivity, and overall equipment operating costs
  • Manage projects to improve equipment performance and replace existing equipment.
  • Ensure all regulatory standards are followed including health & safety and environmental standards Work with project engineers to ensure new equipment at the site meets maintainability and operability requirements.
  • Responsibility for leading the Maintenance team with an emphasis on people development & collaboration to drive performance.

 

Who you are:

 

  • Demonstrated high performance history, proven ability to execute and get results.
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, coaching, mentoring and communication skills/
  • Strong Project Management experience.
  • Experience with injection moulding, high speed assembly, packaging, bulk chemical processing and facilities equipment.
  • Ability to Influence within a matrix organization with direct, indirect authority, High level of energy and enthusiasm and ability to energize others.
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with planning and executing change.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical skills and organizational skills.
  • Proficient and experienced in using maintenance management systems.
  • Application of continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma methodologies and Kaizen Medical device experience desirable
  • Strong knowledge in Maintenance and Reliability
