The Role

 

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing quality control activities to ensure that products are tested in accordance with established methods and specifications. This role manages testing protocols and is responsible for overall team performance, development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, while driving continuous improvement by addressing quality issues, lab efficiencies, and ensuring compliance with lead times. Furthermore, the Quality Control Manager emphasizes timely reporting and adherence to regulatory standards.

 

The Quality Control Manager will perform all activities in an efficient and competent manner, with due regard for Safety and Quality, while promoting a positive team environment and a focus on continuous improvement.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Support and manage the Quality Control Laboratories to ensure raw material, in-process and release testing is performed in compliance with safety, quality, regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Ensure testing is performed in adherence to lead time agreements to meet planning and shipping deadlines. 
  • Support the site colleague engagement model to foster a positive team environment through open communication and feedback.
  • Develop the QC team to promote a high-performance culture.
  • Provide support to the manufacturing areas for troubleshooting and improvement activities.
  • Provide guidance for method development and validation activities in the QC laboratories for site R&D projects, validations and new product introductions.
  • Implement safety, quality and efficiency improvement initiatives in the QC laboratories to foster a continuous improvement environment.
  • Participate in regulatory, customer and internal audits.
  • Develop and control the annual budget allocation to the laboratories. Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and ELT to deliver on operational priorities, goals and objectives.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Who you are:

 

  • B.Sc in Chemistry, Microbiology or other relevant scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years laboratory supervision experience required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong focus on team development.
  • Demonstrated analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive in delivering results.
