EMD Electronics in Chupei, Taiwan is seeking a Pilot Manager to join our Advanced Manufacturing & Digitalization (AM&D) Scale-up & Sampling team. This role is responsible for planning and commercialization of Formulated chemicals used in Patterning Products for the semiconductor fabrication industry.


Your Role
• Leadership Role: Lead and mentor the team, ensuring operations align with global standards and best practices.
• Team Development: Foster employee growth through mentorship and professional development initiatives.
• Scale-Up Production: Oversee the scale-up of R&D formulations to HVM production, ensuring efficiency and quality.
• Customer Sampling: Manage the production of high-quality samples for customer evaluation, maintaining stringent quality standards.
• Technical Support: Provide expert technical advice and support to the production team, stakeholders, and quality assurance (QA) departments.
• New Product Introduction (NPI): Drive the development of products through the new product introduction program.
• Process Automation: Implement automation solutions for HVM processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• Asset Management: Oversee asset transfer and installation processes, ensuring seamless integration into production.
• Pilot Equipment Expertise: Serve as a pilot equipment expert, guiding the team on best practices and operational procedures.
• Data Analysis: Utilize statistical tools and software (Minitab, JMP, Tableau, Office) to conduct design of experiments (DOE) and process capability studies.
• Customer Interface: Engage with customers to provide engineering support and address technical inquiries.
• Prioritization: Strategically prioritize tasks and projects to align with business objectives and customer needs.
• Digitization and Workflow Development: Lead initiatives for digitization and the development of efficient workflows within the team.
• CapEx Projects: Oversee the development and execution of capital expenditure (CapEx) projects related to equipment set development.
• Industry Promotion: Represent Merck at semiconductor conferences, highlighting the value of our formulated products in the market.
• Process Control: Conduct SPC chart reviews and manage process engineering activities.
• Change Management: Develop and implement process change notifications (PCNs) for raw materials, consumables, and processes.
• Production Support: Provide ongoing support for production operations, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.

 

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in science or engineering discipline
  • Experience in stage gate process or similar approach to product launch
  • 1+ years in supervisory/management experience in fast-paced semiconductor materials field or similar
  • 5+ years in process development, product development or commercialization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
  • Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or Ph.D in science/engineering
  • 5+ years managing a pilot lab or similar
  • 10+ years in product development/commercialization
