Your role:

Within Global Healthcare Operations, the Molecular Biology Technology & Innovation Group is responsible for the development and validation of new analytical methods. 

You will be part of the Innovative Sequencing & Data Science Laboratory and will be responsible for the analysis (alignment, annotation) and interpretation of Next Generation Sequencing data used in molecular biology-based methods to support the manufacturing process. 

You will use computational languages and workflow languages to develop and validate bioinformatic pipelines for a variety of applications, including genomics, transcriptomics, metagenomics, as well as single-cell sequencing. This also includes pipeline workflow validation according to GMP guidelines and Data Integrity principles. You will manage the documentation (raw data, logbook, procedure etc.)  and will collaborate with colleagues from other functions/outside the company.  

 

Who you are: 

  • Master Degree/PhD in biological disciplines or other scientific disciplines with previous experience in managing NGS data (e.g. Illumina, ONT)  

  • The position requires strong coding skills (solid knowledge of at least 2 of the following languages is required: Bash, R, Phyton, Perl) 

  • Previous experience in workflow languages (e.g. CWL, snakemake) and knowledge of bioinformatic tools for NGS data analysis (e.g. BEDTools, Samtools, BamTools, BLAST, BWA, Bowtie) is desirable 

  • Prior experience with cloud-based systems and the use of docker containers is a plus. 

  • Experience of working in a GMP environment is a plus 

  • Prior experience with AI technologies (machine learning, deep learning, neural networks) is a plus 

  • Candidate must be able to work in a team, but also to conduct analyses autonomously and manage priorities to meet project timelines with high flexibility 

  • Curiosity and strong problem-solving skills are required 

  • Able to communicate effectively with other colleagues across the organization 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Italian are required
