Start date : 01.09.2025

Duration : 6 months

Location : Corsier-sur-Vevey

Role Level : Internship

As part of the Technology and Innovation team within Global Drug Substance Development, you will join a group of passionate scientists committed to supporting the development and manufacturing of innovative biological therapeutics.

Following the recent internalization of the ADC (Antibody-Drug Conjugate) conjugation process at our biotechnology research center, we are looking for a motivated intern to help to improve the technologies involved in the conjugation step, in collaboration with the downstream processing (DSP) team.

Among the different conjugation strategies, we will focus on cysteine-based conjugation, using an antibody and various drug linkers. The reduction, conjugation and oxidation steps will be studied using spectroscopy-based PAT (Process Analytical Technology) tools.

The main objective of the internship is to develop a workflow to perform the conjugation step using robotic tools and evaluate spectroscopy-based method for their application as a Process Analytical Technology (PAT).

Your project will be structured as follows:

  • Phase 1:  Assess spectroscopy-based methods to predict reaction conversion and compare with standard analytical results.
  • Phase 2: Design and implement a Design of Experiments (DoE) approach to assess the influence of various parameters on the conjugation process. Analytical strategy will be defined and deployed during this step.
  • Phase 3: Focus on data modeling to extract meaningful insights from experimental results

Your Role:

  • Propose an experiment design for modeling the conversion rate for the conjugation processes of reduction, conjugation & re-oxidation
  • Propose and execute a DoE strategy to optimize the conjugation platform.
  • Define and deploy an analytical strategy to control the conjugation step.
  • Support the collection and reprocessing of data in connection with DSP steps.
  • Contribute to the interpretation of experimental results with respect to process performance.
  • Collaborate and exchange with process experts.
  • Document your work and propose avenues for improvement and further development.

You will be trained to work autonomously in the lab and on data analysis, participate in experimental design, and take part in all project-related discussions.

Your profile:

·  Master’s student or engineering student in Biotechnology or a related field.

·  Highly motivated, autonomous, and able to tackle complex problems.

·  Strong team spirit and communication skills.

  • ·  Prior laboratory experience required.Experience in coding (Python, Momentum, Fluent application).

·  Knowledge in analytical chemistry, robotic tools, is a plus

·  Rigorous and meticulous, with a strong commitment to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) rules, especially when working with hazardous materials.

·  Good written and oral communication skills in French and English.
