Job title
Internship in lab automation: optimization of liquid handling pipetting parameters for robotic platforms


Introduction
If you are passionate about lab automation, this opportunity is for you! Located at the state-of-the-art Biotech Development Center (BDC) in Corsier-sur-Vevey, you will work alongside experienced robotics, formulation and analytical scientists in the Global Drug Product Development (GDPD) team. Your internship will focus on characterizing the relationship between liquids’ properties and instrumental parameters, to improve the performance of pipetting robots and bring more medicines to patients, faster.


Your role:
During the internship, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Comprehend scientific and technical challenges related to liquid protein-based therapeutics, with emphasis on formulation development. 
  • Build knowledge of state-of-the-art technological solutions, including advanced automated systems (e.g. liquid handling robots).
  • Study the process and identify key instrumental inputs impacting liquid handling performance. 
  •  Design and execute experimental campaigns aimed at characterizing liquid physical descriptors (e.g., viscosity, surface tension), correlating instrumental parameters with liquid handling performance.


Your profile:

  • Background in engineering/chemistry/physics/biology.
  • Interest in experimental work and lab automation.
  • Skilled in data visualization and analysis. Knowledge of statistics is an advantage.
  • You have high levels of autonomy, but also enjoy teamwork.
  • Good knowledge of English.
