Date de début: ASAP
Durée: 6 month-12 month

Lieu: Corsier-sur-Vevey, Suisse
Position: Internship

Job Title: Internship in Mechanistic Modelling for DSP Chromatography

Business Context Pharma4.0 aims to accelerate medicine development and manufacturing through digitalization. Digital twins and mechanistic/hybrid/data models are central to this transformation. The internship focuses on developing predictive models for downstream drug substance development using mechanistic models. The goal is to test an experimental workflow for building predictive mechanistic models for chromatography, with experiments conducted at robotic scale and gPROMS used for data analysis. The model’s robustness will be assessed and reported throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine predictive mechanistic/hybrid models for the downstream chromatography step.
  • Translate experimental data into modeling parameters and validate model predictions.
  • Design and run robotic-scale/AKTA scale experiments to calibrate and validate membrane chromatography models.
  • Document modeling approaches, assumptions, and validation results; present to multidisciplinary teams.

Your Profile

  • Pursuing a Master’s in Chemical Engineering, Biotech Engineering, or equivalent; strong foundation in statistics, modeling, and ML.
  • Familiarity with chromatography (capture and anionic chromatography, SEC-HPLC) and tools (CADET/Scikit or MATLAB); experience with gPROMS/Dynochem and DoE (JMP) is a plus.
  • Comfortable with wet-lab work and integrating experimental data with models.
  • Analytical, methodical, autonomous, and able to clearly communicate modeling results.
  • Proficient in English.
