Your role:

You will be a member of the Medicinal Chemistry & Drug Design (MCDD) department at our main research site in Darmstadt, located in the thriving greater Frankfurt area, Germany.

 

In this role you will

  • lead cross-functional and international project teams in a matrix organization.

  • manage the progression from hit finding for small molecule modalities, including inhibitors, degraders, and payloads for antibody-drug conjugates in oncology and immunology.

  • define and execute the medicinal chemistry strategy across multiple projects within a specified pharmacology or technological domain.

  • Manage and develop direct reports and mentor peers.

  • Participate in both industry-industry collaborations and industry-academia consortia.

  • Enhance the company's scientific standing and visibility by publishing research results.

  • Engage in collaborative efforts with the broader scientific community.

  • A mix of on-site and remote working will be possible aligned to the role responsibilities.

 

Who you are:

  • PhD degree in chemistry, 10+ years of industrial experience in pharma/ biotech companies, preferably in an international context; deep understanding of innovation trends in medicinal chemistry across various small molecule modalities.

  • Demonstrated portfolio impact in delivering clinical candidates, with a proven scientific track record supported by peer reviewed publications & patents; experience in defining project strategies & work plans.

  • Demonstrated high degree of leadership skills, experienced in people management and in leading multidisciplinary & international matrix teams. You are capable of building highly efficient teams with the ability to motivate and develop team members.

  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (written and spoken); ability to present and communicate at executive level.
