Your role

As part of our Global Quality Service unit, you consult the leadership of Surface Solution regarding the quality management system strategy. You act as advisor for the business unit and drive the implementation and maintenance of the quality management system requirements deriving from the ISO 9001 regulation (and other ISO norm as applicable) as well as global Surface Solutions governance.

 

To ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, you facilitate an appropriate documentation & training management and conduct internal audits. Planning and hosting registrar audits, monitoring the audit follow-up and conducting management reviews is also part of the job. 

 

You will steer a network of local quality managemet coordinators at Surface Solution and will need to interact with all levels of the organization. 

 

 

Who you are

  • Degree in natural science, economics, engineering or similar
  • Over 5 years working experience in manufacturing, process management, quality or similar
  • Good quality management system expertise and knowledge of process tools (like L&SS, SIPOC, Turtle diagram, etc. )
  • Knowledge of relevant ISO standards (e.g. 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001, etc.), as well as training and qualification as ISO 9001 auditor
  • Capability to manage and deliver in a matrix environment and ability to interact cross-functionally within all organisation levels
  • Effective communication and presentation skills (verbal and writing) in English and German
  • Strong teamwork skills

 

Location:

Preferred location of this position is our headquarter in Darmstadt, but it can also be located at any other location or even remote with regular travel required to meet with key partners.

 

The Surface Solutions business unit, a mid-sized multinational leader in the pigments industry, is subject to a planned divestment to the company Global New Materials International (GNMI), headquartered in China, as of August 1st, 2025. This role will be part of the divestment.
